As a valued team member, you’ll work weekdays from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, ensuring your expertise bridges communication between students, staff, and the classroom environment. This is an excellent role for passionate interpreters looking to contribute meaningfully throughout the school year.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent).
- Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) in an educational context.
- Prior experience interpreting in a K-12 school setting highly preferred.
- Ability to adapt interpreting style to various classroom activities.
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Commitment to confidentiality and a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, activities, and interactions for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, peers, and staff.
- Assist with all related school events and meetings as needed.
- Maintain clear, appropriate boundaries and professional conduct.
- Work closely with educational teams to ensure equitable access for students.
