Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings strongly preferred
• Knowledge of current interpreting practices and ethical standards
• Certification such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent (or eligibility)
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to inclusivity

Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa during school hours for students, staff, and meetings
• Support classroom learning by ensuring instruction and conversation are accessible to Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals
• Assist in IEP meetings, assemblies, extracurricular activities, and field trips as needed
• Collaborate regularly with educators and support professionals
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold high professional standards
