Sign Language Interpreter in Manteca, CA

Make a difference in students’ lives as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting inclusive education settings for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. You’ll play an essential role by bridging communication gaps and helping general education students fully participate in their daily classroom experiences.

We are seeking five qualified professionals to work 1:1 with individual students and provide assistance in general education classrooms. Occasionally, you may also float within the campus to support broader interpreting needs. The position offers consistent weekday hours from 7:40 am to 2:00 pm, totaling 32.5 hours weekly on a contract basis.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher is required
• Current certification and experience as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture
• Ability to facilitate clear communication between students and staff
• Professionalism and adaptability in a school environment
• Collaborative attitude and proactive communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 interpreting services for general education students in classroom and campus settings
• Ensure students have equal access to instructional activities and peer interactions
• Facilitate effective communication between students, peers, and staff
• Float as needed to support other students or classrooms when not assigned 1:1
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation as required by school protocols
