This full-time position provides a dynamic, collaborative setting within local schools near Manteca, offering 32.5 hours per week and a consistent weekday schedule from 7:40am to 2:00pm.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a 4.0 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience interpreting in school or educational environments
- Comfortable providing one-on-one interpretation and supporting multiple students if needed
- Professional, adaptable, and able to collaborate with both faculty and students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver real-time sign language interpretation for students in general education classrooms
- Work 1:1 with assigned students, supporting full participation in academic activities
- Serve as a resource and float interpreter as needed throughout the school day
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times
- Partner with educators to ensure accessibility and enhance learning experiences
