Step into an exciting contract opportunity where your expertise in sign language interpretation can make a meaningful impact in educational settings near Manteca, CA. Multiple positions are available for the upcoming 26/27 school year, with a focus on facilitating communication and supporting access for students within general education environments. This role centers around 1:1 assignments with students, with opportunities to assist throughout the campus as needed.

You’ll work a consistent schedule of 30 hours per week, from 7:40 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., providing vital interpretation services that ensure students can engage fully with their classes and peers. The students you will support do not have disabilities but require your expertise to access instruction and participate seamlessly in the school community.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4.0 EIPA score for Sign Language Interpreters
  • Consideration given to ASL paraprofessionals actively working towards certification
  • Strong fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Genuine enthusiasm for supporting student learning and participation
  • Ability to collaborate with staff and adjust support as campus needs change
  • Previous experience in a school setting is a plus, but not required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instructions, discussions, and activities for specific students
  • Float to assist other students or classes as schedules permit
  • Facilitate communication between students and both staff and peers
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism within all school environments
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing training as required
