Current part-time openings include:

• One assignment in a high school setting from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, running through May 21, 2027.
• Another high school position from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, extending until May 30, 2027.

Your expertise will enable students to access instruction and school activities alongside peers while supporting their communication needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid ISBE certification or a 3.5+ EIPA score, OR a 3.0+ EIPA with IBSE approval
• Experience providing sign language interpretation in educational or school environments
• Ability to collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
• Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with educational best practices
• Professionalism, reliability, and compassion for high school learners

Position Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and events in ASL for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Join in student support meetings and conferences as required
• Work closely with teachers and administrators to ensure full access to the curriculum
• Adapt interpreting methods to student needs, fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere
