What We’re Looking For:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong receptive and expressive skills
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
• Ability to adapt interpretation style for various age groups and learning environments
• Accreditation or certification as a Sign Language Interpreter desirable
• Professionalism, patience, and a passion for student success
• Willingness to work full time, in person, Monday through Friday (approximately 36.25 hours per week)
• Flexibility in assignment location within high, middle, or elementary school settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom lessons and activities for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students
• Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers
• Assist students in understanding instructional content and participating fully in school activities
• Collaborate with educators and staff to ensure accessibility and foster student development
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards of interpretation
• Adjust techniques as needed to meet students’ individual needs and education levels
