Qualifications:
- Fluent in American Sign Language with substantial experience as a Sign Language Interpreter.
- EIPA score of 4.0 (written required) and current listing on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health).
- RID or NIC credentials accepted, provided written qualification is also met.
- Successful completion of district-required fingerprinting and drug screening.
- Adaptable to serve a high school caseload (specific students/schools assigned TBD).
Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities for high school-aged students.
- Collaborate with educators and other staff to provide seamless communication support and ensure student inclusion.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adhere to ethical standards within the educational environment.
- Adapt to a varied caseload and contribute to student progress by fostering a supportive, accessible schooling experience.
