Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Midland, GA

Step into a meaningful contract role as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting students in an educational environment near Midland, GA. Two full-time onsite Interpreters are needed, with opportunities for part-time consideration based on your availability. The school year begins August 3rd, 2026, and ends May 21st, 2027, with potential planning days before and after official dates.

You’ll contribute essential communication access for students, collaborating with school professionals and families. Assignments will be tailored to your experience and age group preference, discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Active Georgia Educator Certification for Sign Language Interpreters required
• EIPA score of 3.5 or above
• Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting highly preferred
• Comfortable completing and maintaining daily logs to document interpreting services
• Flexibility to adapt to caseload needs, as assignments may vary year-to-year
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct sign language interpreting services to students during instructional and extracurricular activities
• Facilitate communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, staff, and peers
• Maintain accurate, confidential daily documentation of services rendered
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and possible pre/post-planning days as needed
• Adapt to varied educational settings and student needs, ensuring equitable access
