Sign Language Interpreter in Midland, NC

In this engaging school-based assignment, you’ll play a vital part in supporting one elementary student at a middle school setting on a full-time contract running through the end of May, 2027.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Active NCDPI Sign Language Interpreter license (please provide proof with your application)
• Proficiency demonstrated by an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
• Practical experience with ECATS (Exceptional Children Accountability Tracking System)
• Previous school-based interpreting experience strongly preferred
• Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and a student-centered approach

Role responsibilities:

• Provide direct sign language interpreting services for one elementary student across daily classroom activities
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to help bridge communication barriers
• Track and document services in accordance with ECATS guidelines
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom by supporting student participation in all school activities
• Maintain professional and ethical standards consistent with educational interpreting practices
