Qualifications
- Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization (or eligibility to obtain)
- Associate’s degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, ASL, or related field
- Successful completion of the EIPA Written Examination
- EIPA Performance Score of 3.5+ or current RID Certification
- Ability to meet all employment requirements, including background screening
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide ASL interpretation throughout the school day
- Interpret classroom lessons, meetings, assemblies, and events
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and school staff
- Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to school/district policies
- Collaborate with special education and related service professionals
- Prepare by reviewing instructional materials before assignments
- Uphold professional and ethical standards of educational interpreting
