Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred
• Familiarity with the needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Possession of relevant certifications or meeting state requirements for school interpreters
• Excellent communication, professionalism, and reliability

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for one student during all classroom instruction, activities, and school events
• Support the student’s comprehension and participation in academic and social settings
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate an accessible learning environment
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards set by interpreting organizations
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the individual needs of the student
