What you’ll bring:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language
• Prior experience as a school-based Sign Language Interpreter or ASL Teacher
• Valid EIPA 4.0 or higher, or NIC certification (or the ability and willingness to become Kentucky-licensed)
• Adaptability to work with students of various ages and abilities
• Professionalism, strong ethics, and a passion for supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
• Collaborative spirit to partner with educators and other school staff

Key responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom lessons, school events, and meetings to support communication for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Facilitate interactions between students, staff, and peers
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to interpreting standards
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning as needed
• Foster a respectful, inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and independence
