Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting
• EIPA 4.0 or National Interpreter Certification (NIC); or willingness to obtain Kentucky licensure if certified out-of-state
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and students
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and sensitivity to students’ communication needs
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability in classroom environments

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing interpretation services for students and staff during instructional and extracurricular activities
• Supporting communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and other school personnel
• Ensuring accurate and ethical interpretation in compliance with district and legal guidelines
• Collaborating with educators to adapt materials and assignments as needed
• Facilitating inclusive learning experiences to promote student engagement
