What We're Looking For:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong interpreting skills
• Prior experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings is highly valued
• Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or evidence of commensurate skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and families
• Flexibility to travel between schools within the district as needed
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with hearing impairments

What You'll Do:

• Provide sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings
• Support communication between teachers, staff, students, and families by interpreting spoken language into sign language and vice versa
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines of interpretation
• Collaborate with educational teams to ensure accessibility to curriculum and school events
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the unique needs of each situation and individual student
• Serve as a resource for staff on deaf culture and best practices in communication
