Sign Language Interpreter in New Haven, IN

This contract opportunity for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter will focus on one-on-one support for a PreK student, offering a consistent schedule of 30 hours per week through the end of May 2027. Key Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification and credentials
• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required
• Previous experience in educational or child-centered settings preferred
• Strong grasp of professional boundaries, confidentiality, and communication standards
• Collaborative spirit and readiness to work closely with educators, therapists, and administrators
• Flexibility to adapt to dynamic classroom and school needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one interpreting for a PreK student, ensuring clear and age-appropriate communication
• Facilitate language access in instructional settings, school activities, and group interactions
• Interpret for meetings, classroom activities, and school-wide events as needed
• Help implement accommodations and strategies outlined in the student’s IEP
• Maintain accurate interpretation and support records
