Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | New Orleans, Louisiana

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting high school students through the power of communication. School-based sign language interpreters are needed for a full-time, contract role near New Orleans, LA, providing vital services to students for the academic year beginning as soon as possible and concluding at the end of May 2027.

As a key partner in facilitating access for high school-aged students, you'll be collaborating with educators and staff across assigned campuses (locations TBD), working Monday through Friday according to the regular school calendar for 35 hours each week.

What we're seeking:

• Proven experience as a sign language interpreter in school settings, especially in virtual or VOCO (remote/online) environments
• EIPA score of 4.0 (performance) and successful completion of the written component
• Inclusion on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health)
• RID or NIC certification can be accepted, but the EIPA written component remains essential
• Previous VOCO experience is required
• Ability to support high school students and adapt to a changing caseload
• Flexibility to work across more than one school if needed
• Professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to student success
