We are seeking an experienced Sign Language Interpreter for the 2026-2027 school year, offering the chance to make a direct difference in students' daily lives in a dynamic educational setting. Key Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.0 or higher required for consideration.
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting in an academic environment.
- Previous experience working with school-aged children, ideally in elementary settings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
- Valid fingerprints in the AHCA Clearinghouse (preferred); otherwise, readiness to complete new fingerprinting.
- Commitment to obtaining a JLA badge before assignment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group interpretation services for DHH (Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing) students throughout the school day.
- Partner with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure complete access to instructional content.
- Facilitate communication between students, their peers, and educators to promote inclusion and engagement.
- Attend staff meetings, IEP conferences, and collaborate on student support plans as needed.
- Adapt communication methods to suit student needs and classroom dynamics.
