As part of a contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year, you’ll work across multiple campuses supporting accessibility and inclusion for K-12 students. This position offers a consistent weekly schedule and the chance to collaborate with educators and support staff from the start of August 2026 through the end of May 2027.
What you’ll bring:
- Current proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter, with experience in educational settings strongly preferred
- A minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
- Commitment to facilitating clear communication between students, teachers, and staff
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the ability to adapt interpreting style to individual needs
- Professionalism, reliability, and effective collaboration with school teams
Key responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, lessons, activities, and student/teacher interactions
- Ensure accurate and timely communication for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing
- Maintain confidentiality of all student information
- Support students in both group and one-on-one settings
- Participate in meetings, professional development sessions, and IEP reviews as needed
