This role offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, spanning from early August through late May. Interpreters will be matched with one site for the school year, with placements available at high schools, middle schools, or K-8 academies across multiple locations.

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum EIPA score of 3.5, demonstrating proficiency in educational interpreting
• Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification or state equivalent preferred
• Experience in K-12 educational settings, with the ability to facilitate communication for students, staff, and families
• Excellent receptive and expressive ASL skills
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical interpreting standards

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing throughout the school day
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education teams to ensure access to instruction and school activities
• Assist with translation of spoken information during lessons, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities
• Support students’ participation and engagement by adapting to individual communication needs
• Maintain accurate scheduling and professional standards in all interactions
