Step into an impactful role supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students within a vibrant educational environment. Two full-time Sign Language Interpreters are sought for the 2026–2027 academic year, providing vital communication access across classrooms and school events. In this onsite contract position, you’ll facilitate meaningful connections between students, educators, and staff, playing an essential role in each student’s educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver ASL interpretation throughout the instructional day, including lessons, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Bridge communication among students, teachers, staff, and peers, ensuring all parties are engaged and informed.
- Prepare for assignments by reviewing curriculum materials and school communications as needed for readiness.
- Uphold professional, ethical standards and maintain confidentiality consistent with district and FERPA policies.
- Partner with teachers, special education teams, and related service providers to foster student growth and success.
- Consistently support a positive, inclusive, and accessible school environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Authorization as an Educational Interpreter (or eligibility to obtain) from the Colorado Department of Education.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, ASL, or a related discipline.
- EIPA Written Examination successfully passed.
- EIPA Performance Score of 3.5+ or current RID Certification.
- Ability to complete all district and Colorado Department of Education employment requirements, including a background screening.
- Collaborative approach coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Prior experience in educational interpreting and strong proficiency in American Sign Language highly valued.
