Step into a rewarding opportunity providing essential support for deaf and hard-of-hearing students during the 2026–2027 academic year. Two dedicated Sign Language Interpreters are needed to work full-time and onsite, fostering inclusive communication and access to educational experiences for learners in an engaging school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation across classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, extracurriculars, and all school-related events
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
- Maintain strict confidentiality in line with FERPA and district protocols
- Collaborate closely with educators, special education teams, and related service providers to optimize student success
- Prepare for assignments by reviewing instructional materials as needed
- Uphold professional standards and ethical guidelines for educational interpreting
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization (or eligibility to obtain it)
- Associate’s degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, ASL, or a related field
- Successful completion of the EIPA Written Examination
- EIPA Performance Score of 3.5+ or current RID Certification
- Ability to meet background and employment requirements set by the Colorado Department of Education and district
- Demonstrated proficiency in ASL and prior educational interpreting experience highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Schedule and Work Environment:
- Full-time, onsite role (Monday–Friday)
- Follows the district’s academic calendar
