Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID, EIPA, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience interpreting in school or educational environments preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt to diverse educational settings and student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation services between students, teachers, and staff in a school setting
  • Facilitate communication to ensure full participation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Support classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and events
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Work collaboratively with educators and support staff to enhance student learning experiences
