Key Qualifications:

  • EIPA score of 2.5 or higher or completion of a relevant degree with fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Ability to interpret fluently during interviews and daily on the job
  • Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter or ASL paraprofessional in educational settings is preferred
  • Comfortable working one-on-one with elementary school-aged children
  • Professional, reliable, and passionate about supporting students who are Deaf or hard of hearing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver interpreting services for a Deaf student in a classroom environment from 8:00am–3:00pm, Monday through Friday
  • Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers to ensure full participation in school activities
  • Adapt interpreting methods to meet the educational and developmental needs of the student
  • Collaborate with school personnel to monitor and support student progress
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times
