Qualifications:

  • EIPA score of 2.5 or higher, or a relevant degree with demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Ability to successfully interpret ASL during the interview process
  • Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter or ASL Paraprofessional in an educational setting is preferred
  • A passion for supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate clear, effective communication between a deaf student and classroom staff during school hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
  • Adapt interpreting styles to match student needs and classroom environments
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment
  • Maintain professional and ethical interpreting standards
