Key Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 2.5 or higher or completion of a relevant degree with fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to interpret fluently during interviews and daily on the job
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter or ASL paraprofessional in educational settings is preferred
- Comfortable working one-on-one with elementary school-aged children
- Professional, reliable, and passionate about supporting students who are Deaf or hard of hearing
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver interpreting services for a Deaf student in a classroom environment from 8:00am–3:00pm, Monday through Friday
- Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers to ensure full participation in school activities
- Adapt interpreting methods to meet the educational and developmental needs of the student
- Collaborate with school personnel to monitor and support student progress
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times
