ASL Interpreter | Paradise, California

Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter, working onsite in an elementary or intermediate school setting near Paradise, CA. This is a full-time contract opportunity, providing approximately 30 hours per week (6 hours daily) with a consistent need throughout the upcoming school years. You'll have the chance to facilitate communication and learning for hard of hearing and deaf students, ensuring equal access to classroom instruction alongside their peers and teachers.

What you'll bring:

• Certification from the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, or an assessment score of 4.0 or higher on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI, OR
• Fluency in ASL with an associate degree (candidates with EIPA under 4.0 will be considered as ASL Paras)
• Skills in both sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting
• Ability to assist students with academic subjects including reading, writing, and math
• Experience working with students in vocational or life skills settings
• Flexibility to support a range of grade levels—elementary or intermediate, based on your preference
• Commitment to onsite-only work with reliable attendance

• Interpreting instruction and classroom communication between students, staff, and peers
• Working collaboratively to ensure student understanding of academic and social concepts
• Monitoring and supporting students during all school activities—inside and outside the classroom
• Fostering independence and confidence in students as they develop both academic and life skills
