Qualifications & Certifications:

  • NAD Certification or EIPA Certification with a score of 4.0 or above (required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation in educational settings
  • Experience supporting children and adolescents (K-12) preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and families
  • Professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and reliability

Responsibilities:

  • Provide real-time ASL interpretation for students in classroom and school-based activities
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers to support learning
  • Adapt interpreting style to grade level and individual student needs
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all district, state, and federal guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed
  • Collaborate with staff to promote optimal educational access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
