Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Parlier, California

Desired Qualifications:

• NAD Certification or EIPA Certification with a minimum score of 4.0
• Demonstrated capability in both expressive and receptive sign language interpretation
• Experience working with K-12 students in an educational setting preferred
• Understanding of the needs, rights, and culture of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to varied classroom environments and student needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation in classroom and school-based settings
• Work one-on-one and in group settings to facilitate communication for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Support instruction and classroom engagement by interpreting teacher lessons, class discussions, and school activities
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other interpreters to enhance student participation and success
• Serve as an advocate for student access, confidentiality, and inclusion
• Maintain ongoing documentation as required and participate in team meetings when needed
