Qualifications & Certifications:
- NAD Certification or EIPA Certification with a score of 4.0 or above (required)
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation in educational settings
- Experience supporting children and adolescents (K-12) preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and families
- Professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and reliability
Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time ASL interpretation for students in classroom and school-based activities
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers to support learning
- Adapt interpreting style to grade level and individual student needs
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all district, state, and federal guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed
- Collaborate with staff to promote optimal educational access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
