Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Pekin, Illinois

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Prior experience interpreting in educational or school settings is preferred

• Relevant certification or licensure as required by state or federal guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken English into sign language and vice versa for students, teachers, and staff to ensure effective classroom communication
• Foster an inclusive learning atmosphere by supporting students with diverse backgrounds
• Assist in IEP or team meetings and support extracurricular activities as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and school policies
• Work cooperatively with instructors, administrators, and families to support student achievement
