What you bring:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation within school or youth-centered settings
• Experience as a Braillist, including transcribing and creating accessible educational materials
• Strong understanding of confidentiality and ethical practices when working with students
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
• Effective communication skills to interact with students, teachers, and support personnel
• Relevant certification(s) preferred

Key responsibilities:

• Accurately interpret spoken communication into ASL and facilitate clear, two-way interactions for students and staff
• Provide braille transcription services for student materials, assignments, textbooks, and classroom handouts
• Support teachers in making classroom content accessible to students with visual or hearing impairments
• Adapt instructional resources quickly based on student needs and feedback from specialists
• Assist in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and collaborative planning sessions as required
• Maintain detailed records and logs of services provided
