Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Sign Language Interpreter program or equivalent education required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Previous experience interpreting in educational settings is strongly preferred
  • National or state-level interpreter certification highly valued
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset
  • Capable of maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries

Position Details & Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation for students in a variety of school settings, including classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, and meetings
  • Adapt interpreting style to suit student preferences and instructional formats
  • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote an inclusive educational environment
  • Support usually 1-2 students at a time; caseloads determined based on student need
  • Positions available at multiple elementary and high school sites
  • Collaborate actively with education teams to track student progress and support individualized education plans
