Two full-time contract roles are available for skilled interpreters who are committed to fostering inclusion and ensuring equal access to learning. Work in a dynamic school environment near Quakertown, PA, collaborating closely with educators and students throughout the academic day. Each position offers seven-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification or qualification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state credentials)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting and interpreting for school-aged students preferred
  • Strong understanding of educational vocabulary and classroom routines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with students, staff, and families
  • Reliability, flexibility, and collaborative spirit

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken communication into sign language and vice versa for students, staff, and visitors
  • Facilitate meaningful participation for students in classroom instruction, activities, and events
  • Support the communication needs of students with diverse backgrounds and learning levels
  • Consult regularly with teachers and staff to anticipate interpreting needs and clarify assignments
  • Assist with modifications or accommodations as needed to promote learning
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the school community
