Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and empowering environment
  • Certification or credentialing consistent with state and school requirements for educational interpreting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person sign language interpretation for a kindergarten student throughout her school day
  • Foster communication between the student, teachers, and classmates
  • Support the student's ongoing development in sign language, offering encouragement and instructional guidance
  • Collaborate with school staff, including the fluent Kinder teacher, to promote a cohesive and supportive classroom environment
  • Maintain confidentiality and high professional standards in all interactions
