Exciting opportunity available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a bright and motivated kindergarten student for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position is onsite, offering an engaging and rewarding environment where your expertise can truly make a difference.

As the dedicated interpreter for an enthusiastic young learner who is rapidly acquiring sign language skills, you will play an essential role in helping her build a strong foundation in communication. You’ll have the added support of a kindergarten teacher who is already fluent in sign language, creating a collaborative and nurturing learning space.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Previous experience in school settings or with young children is highly valued
• Ability to create a supportive and interactive learning environment
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• High level of professionalism and sensitivity when working 1:1 with students

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 sign language interpretation for the assigned kindergarten student throughout the school day
• Support the student’s comprehension, participation, and language development in both instructional and social settings
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher and school staff to ensure an inclusive and accessible learning experience
• Monitor and encourage the student’s progress as she builds foundational sign language skills
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of conduct at all times
