The schedule is structured as half-days each school day, providing work-life balance over the course of the 26-27 academic year, with the potential to extend beyond June.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working with children, preferably in educational settings
- Ability to interpret clearly and simplify concepts for early learners
- Comfort supporting students who are new to ASL—no complex signing required
- Appropriate state and national credentials for educational interpreting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing effective, age-appropriate sign language interpretation in a Kindergarten classroom
- Facilitating communication between students, educators, and staff
- Encouraging young students’ early language development in a supportive, engaging way
- Adapting interpreting style to match the learning pace of students new to ASL
- Collaborating with teachers to create an inclusive, accessible classroom culture
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
