Key Qualifications:
- Hold current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter in the State of North Carolina
- Skilled in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiar with interpreting in K-12 school environments
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, with an understanding of IEP processes
- Ability to work onsite daily throughout the academic year
- Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills for partnering with students, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver interpreting services for one assigned student, enabling access to the full curriculum and school activities
- Collaborate with teachers and education professionals to ensure effective communication support
- Translate spoken English into ASL (or vice versa) during classroom instruction and school events
- Maintain accurate records related to service provision and student progress
- Uphold confidentiality and comply with all school district guidelines
