Step into an impactful role supporting student success as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite contract position runs from August through late May, providing invaluable communication access within an educational setting. You’ll collaborate with educators and staff to facilitate an inclusive learning experience, working one-on-one with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter in the State of North Carolina
• Skilled in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiar with interpreting in K-12 school environments
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred, with an understanding of IEP processes
• Ability to work onsite daily throughout the academic year
• Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills for partnering with students, staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver interpreting services for one assigned student, enabling access to the full curriculum and school activities
• Collaborate with teachers and education professionals to ensure effective communication support
• Translate spoken English into ASL (or vice versa) during classroom instruction and school events
• Maintain accurate records related to service provision and student progress
• Uphold confidentiality and comply with all school district guidelines
