Play an essential role in supporting student success by facilitating effective communication for learners across a variety of grade levels. This contract opportunity invites a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to collaborate directly with students in grades K–12, including dedicated one-on-one assignments. Your expertise will foster inclusive educational environments and empower students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing to fully access curriculum and participate in daily school activities.

Qualifications:

  • EIPA Score of 4.0 or higher, or current RID/NAD Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Sign Language Interpreter preferred
  • Ability to work with students from elementary through high school (grades K–12)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with dedication to supporting diverse learning needs
  • Professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to confidentiality in a school environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities in American Sign Language (ASL) for students in both group and 1:1 settings
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, special educators, and school staff to support student comprehension and participation
  • Adjust interpreting style as appropriate to the age and communication needs of assigned students
  • Facilitate communication during extracurricular activities, assemblies, and parent-teacher meetings as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and document services according to district standards
