Make a meaningful difference in students' lives by supporting communication and learning as a sign language interpreter in a school setting. You'll work directly with students from kindergarten through high school, providing 1:1 interpreting services and facilitating full access to educational content for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.

Qualifications:

  • EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, or active RID/NAD certification required
  • At least 2 years of experience as a sign language interpreter in educational environments preferred
  • Familiarity with working across grade levels (K-5, 6-8, 9-12)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
  • Adaptability and professionalism in a dynamic school environment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality interpreting for assigned students in classrooms and various school-related activities
  • Support students’ academic and social engagement by ensuring effective communication with educators and peers
  • Work closely with classroom teachers and special education staff to understand lesson objectives and student needs
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting activities
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and planning sessions as necessary to support student success
