1:1 Grades K - 5 Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Red Wing, MN

This contract position offers the chance to work one-on-one with students in grades K-12, ensuring every learner has access to an engaging and supportive educational experience.

What You’ll Bring:

• Valid EIPA score of 4.0+ or RID/NAD certification (required)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sign language interpreting (preferred)
• Ability to effectively interpret in various educational settings, including small groups and individualized (1:1) situations
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the unique needs of Deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Flexibility to work with students across grade levels, from Kindergarten through high school

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct sign language interpretation for students in classroom and school activities
• Foster clear and effective communication between students, peers, and faculty
• Adapt interpreting styles and pace to match student needs and classroom context
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support each student’s IEP goals
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
