Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings near Richmond and Fulshear, TX. These on-site roles offer the chance to work closely with junior high and high school students, ensuring equal access to communication during school hours and extracurricular activities such as cheerleading, choir, and dance.

Both full-time and part-time schedules are available to match your availability. Position 1 is a full-time opportunity at a junior high from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, including some flexible hours for extracurricular activities. Position 2 is a shorter-term assignment at a high school from August 11, 2026, through October 13, 2026.

Qualifications:

  • Interpreter certification (Registry for the Deaf or Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing)
  • Texas Driver’s License
  • Experience working with children, preferably in educational settings
  • Availability for pre-employment fingerprinting (unless already on file)
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and student support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret in classrooms, during co-curricular programs, extracurricular events, meetings, and other school-related activities
  • Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee meetings as required
  • Tutor students with hearing impairments under guidance of teaching staff
  • Assist with behavior management and adaptation to individual communication needs
  • Maintain student records and prepare necessary reports
  • Engage in professional development, attend faculty meetings, and participate in special events
  • Adhere to attendance guidelines and other duties as assigned by supervisors
