This opportunity is ideal for skilled Sign Language Interpreters who are passionate about student engagement and bridging communication for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners. Four contract positions are available, each offering meaningful collaboration with educators and students across diverse learning environments.

You’ll be placed at one of several welcoming school campuses within the region, including both middle and high school settings with assignments tailored to your strengths. Consistent, daytime hours let you provide continuity and meaningful support from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027.

What you bring:

  • Valid Sign Language Interpreter credentials and proficiency
  • Minimum EIPA score of 3.5, with a strong grasp of educational interpreting practices
  • Experience in K-12 environments, especially working collaboratively with instructional teams
  • Adaptability and professionalism to support varying student needs and school cultures
  • Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality in all interpreting assignments

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver real-time sign language interpretation for classroom instruction, assemblies, and school activities
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers throughout the school day
  • Adapt interpreting methods to suit content, age group, and individual requirements
  • Support the academic and social inclusion of students by collaborating with school staff and service providers
  • Maintain accurate records and actively participate in professional development as needed
