Make a meaningful difference by supporting high school students in an adaptive classroom as a Sign Language Interpreter during the 2026-2027 academic year. This onsite, contract opportunity will allow you to engage directly with students, faculty, and support staff, providing essential communication services that foster an inclusive educational environment.

You’ll be onsite, as requested by the student’s family, to offer direct support and ensure full participation in both academic and school activities.

Key qualifications:

  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required (if your score is lower, let’s discuss options)
  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • Experience in school-based or adaptive classroom settings is highly valued
  • Dedicated to facilitating communication access for students with diverse needs
  • Positive, flexible, and collaborative mindset

Role responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, peer interactions, and extracurricular activities for students in an adaptive setting
  • Provide compensatory services as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and therapists to create effective communication strategies
  • Adapt interpreting style to accommodate student’s learning and mobility needs
  • Maintain professional documentation and ethical standards at all times

This school-based assignment runs from August 3, 2026 through May 21, 2027, offering a consistent Monday through Friday schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You’ll find this position both rewarding and impactful, helping shape success in a supportive school environment.
