Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) certification/license valid in California
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
- Experience working with K-12 students preferred
- Ability to provide accurate, expressive sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation
- Strong commitment to ethical practices and confidentiality
- Confidence working as part of an educational team and independently
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one sign language interpretation for a designated student throughout the school day
- Adapt interpreting style to classroom content and individual student needs across grade levels K-12
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to support the academic and social growth of the student
- Maintain professionalism and cultural sensitivity in all interactions
- Keep accurate daily records of interpreting assignments and student interaction, adhering to school and district policies
