Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • National certification (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent) preferred
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Previous experience interpreting in K-12 school settings strongly desired
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and follow educational protocols

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation services for students, staff, and families within a school environment
  • Facilitate classroom communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and other professionals
  • Support educational access by interpreting lessons, school functions, and extracurricular activities
  • Collaborate with educational staff to meet students’ individualized needs
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity at all times
