Make a meaningful impact supporting students in elementary education by providing sign language interpretation services. As an integral part of the team, you'll facilitate communication for students across grades K-5, ensuring access to learning and school activities in a vibrant and inclusive environment. This contract position offers a full-time schedule during the 2026/27 school year, giving you the opportunity to build ongoing relationships and support young learners' success.

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong interpreting skills.
  • Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with supporting children in K-5th grade is a plus.
  • Certification or licensure compliant with state and school requirements.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to adapt to dynamic school environments.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and sensitivity to the needs of diverse students.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa, facilitating classroom communication.
  • Support students’ participation in lessons, activities, and school events.
  • Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student inclusion.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpreting.
  • Adapt communication style to meet students’ needs and learning goals.
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and accessible school environment.
