Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid NAD Certification or EIPA Certification (score of 4.0 or above)
• Skilled in facilitating communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and school staff
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience working in school settings and interpreting for children and adolescents is highly valued
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Professionalism and adaptability to varying classroom needs

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate, effective sign language interpretation in all classroom and school activities for K-12 students
• Work closely with teachers, school administrators, and educational specialists to ensure accessibility
• Support students’ understanding of academic content and foster their social-emotional growth
• Prepare for classes by reviewing relevant materials and collaborating with staff as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical interpreting standards within the school environment
• Serve as a language and communication resource for staff and families, as appropriate
