Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong expressive and receptive skills.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably as an SLI.
• Ability to adapt communication style for a range of ages and classroom activities.
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related documentation.
• Professionalism, reliability, and sensitivity to diverse educational needs.
• National certification or the equivalent is highly desirable.

Role Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken communication between staff or peers and students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Ensure accurate, confidential, and neutral relaying of conversations and instructions.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to facilitate effective communication.
• Participate in meetings and activities as requested, providing interpretation services as needed.
• Support equitable access to academic content and foster inclusion in all school activities.
