An educational institution in Seattle, WA is seeking a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to support middle school students. This contract position involves working 6.5 hours per day with an immediate start, continuing through June 16, 2026.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing skilled sign language interpretation for classroom instruction and school activities
  • Facilitating effective communication between deaf and hard-of-hearing students, teachers, and staff
  • Collaborating with educators to ensure an inclusive learning environment
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting is preferred
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a valid EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score within the school year
  • EIPA testing can be completed on-site with a certified state proctor available to administer both written and performance exams
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support middle school-aged students effectively
