ASL Interpreter | Seattle, Washington

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available for the current school year in a middle school setting located in Seattle, WA. This contract position requires 6.5 hours of work per day and runs through June 16, 2026, with an immediate start date.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, particularly in educational environments
• Ability to work effectively with middle school students, supporting their communication needs
• EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) certification or willingness to complete the exam during the school year
• Candidates who need to take the EIPA can benefit from a district-certified state proctor on-site for both the written and performance exams

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate, and professional sign language interpreting services to middle school students in various educational settings
• Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and teachers, staff, and peers
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance student learning and inclusion
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in all interactions
