Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and skilled in interpreting for K-12 educational settings.
- Valid certification such as EIPA, RID, or state-specific credential preferred.
- Previous experience supporting students with hearing impairments is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal communication; ability to work cooperatively in multidisciplinary school teams.
- Adaptability and cultural competence in varied school environments.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret spoken and signed communication during classroom instruction, assessments, and school activities.
- Support the educational and social development of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to enhance access and inclusion.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
- Assist with preparation of materials and participate in IEP meetings when required.
