Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong receptive and expressive skills
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (state or nationally recognized credential preferred)

• Ability to adapt interpretation style to the developmental level of students
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and integrity
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate interpretation between spoken English and ASL for students, teachers, and staff
• Support effective communication during classroom instruction, group activities, meetings, and events
• Collaborate with school personnel to ensure appropriate accommodations are met
• Maintain documentation and adhere to school policies and ethical standards
• Foster inclusion by facilitating participation of deaf and hard-of-hearing students in all school activities
