As a vital communication bridge, you will play a direct role in supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students in grades 5 to 8 at a satellite program nearby. Each day will bring variety as you interpret in both DHH classrooms and mainstream education settings, accompanying students to related service sessions like occupational therapy and social work. Your expertise ensures these students have equal access to education and support.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
• Experience working with school-aged children, preferably grades 5–8
• Familiarity with mainstream/inclusion and special education settings
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Professional credentials as required by Illinois

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for DHH students in general education and DHH classrooms
• Accompany students to related service sessions (OT, social work, etc.)
• Facilitate clear and supportive communication between students, peers, and staff
