Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings is highly valued
  • Ability to facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students, staff, and peers
  • Understanding of educational terminology and protocols
  • Certification as an interpreter (RID, NIC, or equivalent) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Adaptable, with the capacity to respond dynamically to classroom needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language into sign language (and vice versa) in classroom and school activities
