Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Valid state licensure/certification for Sign Language Interpreters in MA
  • Previous experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt to various learning environments and student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language into sign language for students, staff, and families within the school setting
  • Facilitate effective communication between d/Deaf, hard-of-hearing students, and hearing individuals
  • Support participation in classroom activities, school events, and extracurricular programs
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity at all times
