Make an impact by supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity, conveniently located near Springfield, OR, will have you collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals, including DHH teachers and additional classroom support staff. Full-time positions are available, and your specific caseload and assignment details will be determined based on your preferences and experience—helping ensure the best fit for both you and the students you serve.

Your expertise will be valued as you work across multiple sites, providing crucial interpretation services throughout the academic year. There are 1–2 positions open, so early applications are encouraged.

Key Qualifications:

  • Completion of interpreter training program (please ensure this is current and verified)
  • IEPA score above 3.5 (required for consideration)
  • Credentialed/licensed as a Sign Language Interpreter to work in educational settings
  • Experience in school-based interpretation is beneficial
  • Ability to work with a team of DHH professionals and adapt to various classroom environments
  • Preference for caseload/grade levels and candidate zip code should be included with your application

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation between students, staff, and faculty across assigned locations
  • Collaborate with DHH teachers, classroom aides, and other educational staff to support inclusive learning
  • Uphold confidentiality and professional standards at all times
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to meet diverse student needs
