Qualifications and Experience

  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Preferably hold VQAS Level III or EIPA score of at least 3.5 (requirements may evolve)
  • Ability to quickly begin credentialing, including starting the VA Department of Social Services check and completing a VA TB Test
  • Previous experience in educational or school settings is an advantage

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide sign language interpretation services as needed, on-site, serving a varied caseload of students
  • Work across assigned schools with assignments varying based on district needs
  • Maintain a flexible, on-call schedule—hours per week pending district demand
  • Uphold professional standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and respect
