Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with interpreting in K-12 school settings
  • National Interpreter Certification (NIC), EIPA certification, or equivalent
  • Experience collaborating with teachers, special education teams, and families
  • Flexibility, reliability, and cultural competence

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for students, faculty, and staff
  • Ensure communication access during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings
  • Support Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards
