Qualifications:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID, EIPA, or state credentials)
- Experience providing sign language interpretation in school or educational settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic educational environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language to ASL (and vice versa) for students, staff, and families
- Support students’ participation in classroom and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support professionals
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
- Assist in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other school functions as needed
