Key Qualifications:

  • Hold an SLI license with an EIPA score of 3.5+; alternatively, RID certified interpreters are also eligible.
  • Strong commitment to supporting the communication and educational needs of students.
  • Ability to reliably report onsite each school day, arriving prior to student arrival.
  • Comfortable functioning in an elementary school setting, working one-on-one.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily sign language interpreting services onsite at Troutman Elementary.
  • Facilitate seamless communication access for students, staff, and teachers.
  • Support classroom and school activities, ensuring equal participation for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
  • Collaborate with educators to best support student goals and inclusivity.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and effective communication at all times.
