Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to interpret effectively in academic settings
- National Interpreter Certification (NIC), EIPA, or state equivalent preferred
- Experience working with school-aged children and educational staff
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to fostering inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and school communications for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and support personnel
- Assist with IEP meetings, extracurricular activities, and parent–teacher conferences as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to student needs at all times
