Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a dynamic educational setting near Sun Valley, NV. This role offers the chance to provide crucial sign language interpretation services, primarily within elementary schools, with occasional itinerant support in select middle and high school classrooms. You'll collaborate directly with a small caseload—typically 1-2 students—fostering communication access and enhancing their learning experience throughout the academic year.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • National certification in sign language interpretation is required
  • EIP score of 3.5 or higher
  • Previous experience supporting K-12 students as a sign language interpreter preferred
  • Ability to work with young learners and adapt communication strategies for various age groups
  • Comfortable traveling between campuses as needed (minimal itinerant assignment)
  • Required to complete fingerprinting and a drug screen as part of credentialing
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to document student progress

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school events to ensure full access for assigned students
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to implement individualized education plans
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information
  • Support students' communication and social integration with their peers
  • Participate in prescreen interviews, offering scheduling availability between 9-11am or 2-3pm EST (flexible timing offered)
  • Provide timely reports and feedback to team members as required

This contract runs from August 10, 2026, through June 3, 2027, for 32 hours per week, allowing for steady, meaningful engagement through the academic year. You'll join a community of dedicated educational professionals focused on creating positive experiences for every child.
